Back to Back cookoffs at the Route 66 Casino Hotel, only 20 minutes from downtown Albuquerque, on I-40. The dates are August 10th, and August 11th. You still have time to book flights right now at decent rates, or decide to drive to the Albuquerque area. We have consistently had over 20 Red cooks per day for years, and Verde and Salsa are always close to 20 as well. We need cooks to sign up online, so the casino can determine what “free gifts” they will be giving out to the cooks.

The Southwest Regional is on Saturday, August 10th, and the New Mexico State is Sunday, August 11th. The casino, supplies the tents (like the World’s), tables and chairs. No entry fees, provided you supply 2+ gallons of People’s Choice Chili to give away to the big crowd. Three chances to qualify for the WCCC each day. You must be an ICS member. Prize money is great, and rooms at the casino (very nice), are inexpensive at $69/night for cooks. All rooms have refrigerators. Call 1-866-711-STAY and mention “Chili Cookoff ” to get the $69 rate. The huge classic car and hot rod show next to the cookoffs is a must see, over 300 cars.
